Last night was the Rye Football Club Presentation Night for season 2015 held at the Portsea Hotel, Portsea.

About 120 players, sponsors, committee members, volunteers, family and friends gathered to celebrate the club’s best and fairest winners in both the seniors and reserves football teams.

Congratulations to Harry Crowe for winning the reserve grade best and fairest, with Sam Smith runner up. Mitch Harris was awarded the most consistent award, and David Howie the most determined award.

In the seniors, Ryan Mullett won his first Rye Football Club best and fairest to add to his collection from Vermont. In winning, he beat senior’s captain and local town hero Adam Kirkwood. The league’s overall best and fairest, Kris Bardon, came equal third with Nathan Henley.

Most significantly, Shirley Pentland was awarded a club life membership for her incredible volunteer contributions to the club. For a fleeting second we thought the premiership-winning tattoo would be out on display but was safely kept under wraps on the night. Thanks for all your work Shirley!
