Rye Football Club’s senior team came back to earth with a disappointing loss to Somerville. Some poor play in wet and slippery conditions and even poorer umpiring decisions, including the dubious award of a free kick resulting in a goal following the score of an earlier goal. Final score Somerville 9-12-66 def Rye 8-12-60.
The team will need to be back on top form next weekend against Rosebud.
